Steampunk Sonnet

Today’s poem is for all the members of the Glasgow Ubiquitous E. Steampunk Society who have their Annual General Meeting this afternoon.

There is magic in the old trunk.

Long lost clothes to fix and mend

And to adapt to a new trend.

Or perhaps an old one, Steampunk.

The fun of upcycling old junk,

And rescuing forgotten friends

Is the secret pleasure that lends

The joy to creative Steampunk.

The true steampunk does not fear a

Dark future that is yet unread,

But draws upon a past era

To shine light on the road ahead

And bring a bright new dawn nearer,

Reviving values once thought dead.
